Tianjin Architecture Design Institute's 42 Projects Honored as 2025 Tianjin Outstanding Engineering Survey and Design Achievements.
Recently, the 2025 Tianjin Outstanding Engineering Survey and Design Achievements Evaluation concluded successfully. Tianjin Architecture Design Institute Co., Ltd. (TADI) delivered an outstanding performance, with 42 projects receiving awards. Of the 63 projects submitted by TADI for assessment, 42 were selected for recognition, including 16 First-Class Awards, 9 Second-Class Awards, and 17 Third-Class Awards, demonstrating the Institute’s strong and well-rounded capabilities across multiple professional disciplines.
Among the First-Class Award recipients, Zhonghai City Plaza (Phase III) Plot A [Huanyu Tiandi], QingShu Science & Technology Park, and the Underground Cultural Relics Repository and Exhibition Hall of the Puppet Manchurian Palace Museum were recognized in the Architectural Engineering category. In the Residential category, TiBei Luneng Mansion, Phase I EPC General Contracting Project (Lot 1) of the Yangguangli Plot in Hedong District, and the Tianbao Jiuru Project received First-Class Awards. The Dodge Baseball Stadium Renovation and Upgrade (Luneng TiBei Primary School) was honored with a First-Class Award in Urban Renewal, while multiple projects—including the Commercial Building Project at Plot 40 of the Tianjin South Railway Station Technology & Business District—were recognized with First-Class Specialized Awards.
As representative award-winning projects, Zhonghai City Plaza (Phase III) Plot A [Huanyu Tiandi] comprises a 220-meter supertall office tower, eight standalone commercial buildings, and a two-level underground garage, with the office and retail components connected by second-floor corridors and complemented by localized sunken plazas. By integrating historical, landscape, commercial, and cultural resources—while continuing the district’s Russian-inspired architectural character—the project responded to high-intensity development constraints in a dense urban core. Through a compact layout with centralized vertical circulation and support spaces, it achieved a 62% retail efficiency rate, and through clear vertical zoning and terraced massing strategies, it realized a 65% office efficiency rate, creating a high-end business environment alongside a layered mixed-use commercial experience.
Guided by the design concept of “A leading flagship setting sail,” QingShu Science & Technology Park consolidated dispersed buildings into a dynamic and shared industrial hub. Through centralized resource sharing, a form-generation logic based on equitable access, technology-forward architectural expression, BIM-based parametric refinement, and green innovation, the project was awarded the National Three-Star Green Building Design Label. The Underground Cultural Relics Repository and Exhibition Hall of the Puppet Manchurian Palace Museum, developed under the concept of “Dialogue across time and space—hidden yet monumental,” features a 16-meter-span double-curved thin-shell dome that generates distinctive light and shadow effects. As the first exposed fair-faced concrete underground building in Northeast China, the project integrates structural performance with architectural aesthetics through meticulous detailing, and leverages BIM forward design to coordinate joint segmentation, formwork assembly, and MEP routing—achievements that have previously earned multiple BIM-related awards.
In the residential sector, TiBei Luneng Mansion, located east of the former Tianjin Institute of Physical Education site in Hexi District, continues the cultural identity of the historic TiBei area and adopts “health” as a key design driver. Iterations focused on daylighting, indoor air quality, and acoustic comfort, and scenario-based planning helped shape a benchmark residential community with strong livability and a sense of belonging. The Yangguangli Plot Phase I EPC Project (Lot 1) responded to the characteristics of a mature residential district by introducing a four-tier social space system to strengthen community interaction, while embedding health and safety goals to meet contemporary living needs. An integrated design approach further enabled balanced control of both quality and cost, supporting vitality in the surrounding area. The Tianbao Jiuru Pinzhu Project in the Tianjin Airport Economic Area was developed around the principles of “green and low-carbon, smart technology, livable comfort, and innovation-led development,” aiming to create an internationally benchmarked ecological and livable community through systematic planning, technological application, and refined management.
In the field of urban renewal, the Dodge Baseball Stadium Renovation and Upgrade (Luneng TiBei Primary School) respected the historic value of the original site and preserved existing structures to the greatest extent possible. A new architectural volume—described as “gently placing a crown”—was introduced to transform the former outdoor stands into interior space, creating a vivid dialogue between old and new and revitalizing New China’s first international-standard baseball stadium.
These award-winning projects span multiple categories and collectively highlight TADI’s comprehensive technical strength and excellence in engineering survey and design. Looking ahead, TADI will continue to deepen its expertise in the sector, advance technological innovation and refined design capabilities, and pursue excellence across diversified tracks including urban renewal, green building, industrial parks, and high-quality residential development. Through craftsmanship and continuous improvement, TADI remains committed to delivering more high-standard projects and contributing stronger design momentum to high-quality urban and rural development and the sustained enhancement of the living environment.
