On June 24, 2024, Feng Wenlong, Deputy General Manager of Tianjin Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. (TADI), led a delegation to visit Gulam Qadir, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Pakistani Embassy"). Accompanying him were Yang Guang, Party Secretary of the Management Center of the General Contracting Division; Tang Xiaoyun, Director of the Green Building Design Center of the Green Building Institute; Sun Yan, International Project Leader of the Engineering Management Center of the General Contracting Division; and others. Cheng Xizhong, Chief Researcher on South Asian Affairs at the Charhar Institute, and Li Yuanyuan, Assistant to the Director of the Tianjin Office of the Charhar Institute, coordinated and accompanied the visit.
The delegation led by Deputy General Manager Feng Wenlong met with Commercial Counselor Gulam Qadir and held talks. Deputy General Manager Feng expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced TADI's historical development, business areas, development plans, and other basic information. He stated that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and "ironclad" friends, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as a key pilot project of the Belt and Road Initiative, has brought unprecedented development opportunities to both countries. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz's recent visit to China has elevated the all-weather strategic partnership between the two nations to new heights. In recent years, China has strongly supported survey and design industry enterprises in implementing the "going global" development strategy and actively promoting overseas engineering construction. TADI has closely followed the national foreign strategy, continuously exploring paths for overseas business development, and hopes to leverage its full industrial chain advantages in the entire process of engineering construction under the guidance and support of the Pakistani Embassy, strengthen cooperation with the Pakistani government and local enterprises, actively expand markets in architectural design and engineering general contracting, and contribute professional expertise to promoting bilateral exchanges and development.
Counselor Gulam Qadir warmly welcomed the TADI delegation and commended the company's professional and technical strengths, foreign aid construction achievements, and overseas business development strategies. Qadir noted that as the global landscape evolves rapidly, he hopes to further implement the important consensus between the leaders of both countries through this exchange and strengthen cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the survey and design field. He then briefly introduced relevant policies in Pakistan's engineering construction sector and put forward specific suggestions for Chinese companies to develop the Pakistani market, expressing willingness to assist in building a cooperation bridge between Chinese enterprises and the Pakistani government and enterprises to support TADI's international market expansion and business development.
After the talks, Deputy General Manager Feng Wenlong presented an invitation letter to Counselor Qadir, sincerely inviting distinguished guests from the Pakistani Embassy to visit TADI. Counselor Qadir gladly accepted the invitation and stated that he would incorporate it into his recent work plan.
This exchange enhanced mutual understanding and laid a foundation for follow-up cooperation. Taking this opportunity, TADI will seize the China-Pakistan cooperation opportunities, deepen cooperation, enhance business internationalization, and contribute to the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative.
